louth bush scrapbooking retreat

The lovely Gabie has sent me some information about the retreat she's organising again this year at Louth.

Now if you don't know where Louth is (cause I didn't until a year or so ago), from Sydney you'd head in a north-westerly direction to Dubbo and keep going through Nyngan, then I think you could either go via Bourke or Cobar (I think the Cobar route would be quickest). Then you're only a short trip to Louth!

Gabie organises a fabulous event (I've heard many great stories about the event) and ladies travel great distances to attend and to scrap with friends. So here are the details for this year's event:

Hosted by: Gabie Le Lievre

Where: Trilby Station, Louth, NSW (Trilby Station is located 25km from Louth). More information and photos of the property can be found at the website: .

When: Friday 8 September - Sunday 11 September 2006

Come along and enjoy a weekend of non-stop scrapbooking! Products, advise and demonstrations will be available throughout the weekend.

Please contact Gabie to obtain full details on (02) 6874 7390 or email at .

Below are some photos from last year's event which Gabie has sent through.

Hope its a great success Gabie. One day I intend to come out there and scrap with you all!

new ribbons at ribbons galore

I don't normally take a photo of ribbon orders, but this one looked so nice, a lot of the new 'mix-it-up' grosgrain ribbons from Ribbon Galore all in a row!

Here's a little heart made with some of these ribbons too... love the colours in these ribbons!

Hope you're having a good weekend!

52 scrapbooking challenges

I bought this idea's book last week and finally got a chance to sit down last night and read it.

What a beautiful book Elsie has written! There are 52 challenges, but they aren't "challenging" challenges, (LOL) if you know what i mean. They are fun challenges, some of them very simple, but still very fun and they encourage us to "play" with our scrapbooking supplies. This book is just full of happiness, brightness and fun (I keep saying this book is fun, that is just one great way to describe it).

This is a must for your bookshelf! Scrapbooking should be fun :-)) Go buy this book!

Thanks for visiting

i survived monday!

Imagine not one, but two classrooms packed with 10 & 11 year olds (that's over 60 kids) keen and ready to take on the scrapbooking world!!

That was my day yesterday. I had the pleasure of helping Emily's classmates (and the neighbouring class's classmates) start a scrapbooking page "All about me in 2006".

I will admit, I was a bit scared at the thought!

I went in armed with the card stock, lots of strips of pattern paper (which I'd cut mostly into 5cm widths), the title block (ready to decorate) and the photos.

The kids were really enthusiastic and I was surprised how many of them knew about scrapbooking (or the concept of keeping our memories in some written form with photos).

I really love watching kids and the creative process. These kids all came up with something different despite starting out with the same basic materials.

During the week, they will be writing their journalling during one of their classes ready to add to the layout, and next week I return to help them finish off the layout.

This little experience has been one of the highlights of my scrapbooking life, and it gave me a real buzz to be sharing this craft with all those kids.

For privacy reasons I obviously won't share photos of the class, but next week when some layouts are finished, I'll take some photos of Emily's layout.

Thanks for visiting.

scrapabout australia classes

Yesterday I was out at Scrapabout Australia most of the day teaching two classes. The ladies were great, and worked hard on two layouts in each class.

Thank you for having me again to teach at your lovely store Leanne and Pat.

I actually took my camera with me this time. When I turned it on, the battery was very low and I only had one image left on my card. So this is the photo I took. I didn't get the opportunity to clear my memory card so I could take more... there's always next time.

I have four new classes coming up in August and September. Dates are in the side bar to the left.

Bye for now.

getting back to work / class update

The girls went back to school yesterday, so it's back to finishing some work for me! I'm finalising some class samples for Leanne at Scrapabout Australia for the August/September calendar (more details to come soon).

I will be teaching two classes at Scrapabout Australia (North Parramatta) this Saturday, 22 July 2006. There have been a couple of cancellations, so a couple of spots in each class are available. Please contact the store for class bookings (02) 9630 7450. Here's a little summary of what I will be teaching:

Page Blitz : we will be completing two layouts; a single and a double, in this photo focused class.

Swingpageweb Fontwerkssundayweb

Stamping Workshop : in this class we'll be working on 2 single layouts using groovy Fontwerks stamps.

Fontwerkslayoutweb Pccfontwerksweb

And while I'm chatting about classes, I will be online Friday week (28 July 2006 @ 8.30pm) for my class at Scrapboxx. Below is the girl sample.

Have a great day everyone.

Scrapbooking Memories

Scrapbooking Memories magazine came out while I was away last week, another big issue with lots of ideas!

It was my turn to create the Scrappin' Step by Step was in this issue. I also had the following layout published in one of the galleries, showing some of my favorite photos taken at Hawks Nest a little while back.

The pattern paper is from Paper Salon, HS lettering, rick rack from Ribbons Galore.

Leanne from Scrapabout Australia has asked me to teach a class where we will be making this layout. We'll also be making a little surprise or two. The class will be in the next calendar (Aug/Sept), so I'll put up the dates as soon as they are finalized.

Have a good day!

New Paper Salon

Thought I'd post a layout below using some of the new Paper Salon products to be released at CHA very soon.

Some Paper Salon new release sneak peeks can be seen at the following:

Lifetime Moments, A Peek into Yesterday and Scrap Talk. Lots lovely new stamps (tailored tins), papers (now double sided) and matching products.

So below, I've used the papers/tags/letter stickers from the Tribeca range.

These photos were from our recent visit to the Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Santuary in Port Douglas. It was nice to walk around with the kangaroos, although some of them were much bigger than us (and we stayed a safe distance from them - LOL).

Thanks for looking.

Holidays and Marty Bear

We are half way through the school holidays. We've had a lovely few days relaxing up the coast with friends. We had beautiful weather, bright sunny days which were just perfect for sitting on the beach relaxing.

Below is "an itty bitty book of Marty Bear" made using a Maya Road blossom chipboard book. Also used: Scenic Route Paper Co. papers, Making Memories Boho letter stickers and some KI Memories letter stickers.
