maya road scroll binder book & chipboard wings album

Here's a couple more Maya Road project using two of their new chipboard books, the Scroll Binder Book and the Wings Album, both released last week at CHA-S 08.

First up is the Scroll Binder Book. The shaping of this book is gorgeous. The paper I've used throughout this book is from the Office Lingo collection by Pink Paislee, one of my new favourites.

Webphoebebook3_2

The "phoebe" is made from the Maya Road Noah chipboard alphabet set. The letters in this set are a great size. Being smaller than the original MR chipboard letters you can fit a larger title to the front on a book:

The 100% Girl Sheer Calendar Turn fitted well with the theme of this little book:

Inside page, a MR chipboard tree shape and a new sheer ticket:

And a few inside pages from the book, my favourite photos of Phoebe growing up over the last 10 years:

And another newly released album from Maya Road, their chipboard Wings Album. This little book now documents the lullaby I used to sing to my girls when they were babies and little girls. They used to love this song, and as they got a little older would sing along with me. I wanted to put the words down in writing, just so we have them around. Papers used inside the book are by Sweetwater from their Giggle Girl collection.

I've a few smaller Maya Road projects to show, but I think that's about enough for today's blog post!

Thanks for visiting my blog. Hope you're all having a great week.

maya road projects for CHA-S 2008

Maya Road is making some gorgeous stamps, both in sets and single stamps (which are called singletons). You can see the stamp sets (including new CHA releases) in the Maya Road CHA-S Catalog.

A couple of my favourites have features in some of my projects which have gone to CHA.

I've used owl stamp (below) on a few little projects.

Owl Stamps

The tiny owl stamp and the 'what a hoot' have been used below, with Pink Paisley paper on the background.

Webwhatahootcard

The owl stamped on acetate and coloured and mounted on a round tag with Scenic Route paper:

These owls were stamped on linen fabric then embroidered:

And while I was making little fabric hanging ornaments, I used the new Maya Road cupcake singleton stamp for these:

I love cupcakes. And now Maya Road have several new cupcake themed products. There's the stamp (which I mentioned above), but also there's

  • a cupcake stamp set (with six cupcake stamps plus more),
  • a cupcake chipboard album,
  • cupcake rubons sheets,
  • a cupcake sheer ribbon,
  • a cupcakes chipboard set and
  • a cupcake coaster album.

Below I've used a chipboard cupcake shape from the cupcake coaster album as the base for the felt cupcake below. This book is a Maya Road sheer tab binder book, which I covered with fabric slip cover which I sewed.

And a few pages from inside my cupcake book. This book holds most of my cupcake secrets, the recipes, the frostings, the fun stuff. Being the binder style book, I'll be able to add more pages as I go along, with more fun ideas.

This book was lots of fun to make.

That's all for today, I'll gather some more photos of my Maya Road projects and post very soon.

Thanks for visiting.

Early July catch up

It was my turn to post over at the Pursuit of CraftYness blog a week or so back (yes, just catching up now). I created a little farewell book with Phoebe for one of her friends. I've posted more about it over at the POC blog.

Fcminibook

This is a little project I had in Stamping and Papercraft magazine a couple of issues back (yes again, just catching up now). This project used an Urban Lily Secret Keeper Card as the base. The card slides open to reveal the invitation details.

Housewarmingcard1 Housewarmingcard2

Speaking of Urban Lily, I spotted some new releases on the Scrap Genie blog recently.

I've been very busy working through my Maya Road projects for CHA-Summer. They are now in the mail making their way to the US. There's lots of yummy new products coming out for Maya Road, and the sneak peeks will be starting on the Maya Road blog this week.

Some other sneak peeks from some of my favourite companies are:

Pink Paislee (lots of sneak peeks happening on their blog, love the owl on the Vintage Moon paper).

Luxe Designs (Sugar Cookie and Gingersnap, and can you believe there is a holiday range preveiwed for October release - Candy Cane, love the bright colours in this one).

more Maya Road projects and some new CHA products

Just thought I'd share a few more Maya Road projects with some of the new products being released at CHA.

Following is a birthday/anniversary reminder book created with a Maya Road Scalloped Chipboard book. I've used a combination of stamps from the Make A Date Clear Stamp set and the Sealed with a Kiss Clear Stamp set both from Maya Road. The cover of this book has three Textured Cord Blossoms from the new Trinkets Collection. All these products can be seen in the Maya Road CHA-W 2008 catalog.

Next book uses the Maya Road Rectangle Chipboard Banner Book as its base. Its covered with felt and decorated with Velvet Blossoms and gathered Ric Rac. The title is created with the Noah Alphabet Clear Stamps.

Webasoftstory

New Trinkets Ribbon, from, you guessed it, the Maya Road Trinkets Collection (can you tell I love this new collection).

This book documents my soft toy making. Starting with Bunny which I made sometime during my primary school days, there is a little story of some of my favourite toys I've created.

And finally, the Maya Road Design Team girls created a canvas to display at the MR Booth. Mine follows. All the DT girls canvases can be seen at the MR DT Blog.

Some new Sheer Ribbon:

Maya Road Microchip Foundations Buttons:

And looking around at some new things being released at CHA, these are some of the things I'm loving...

That's about all to share today. Hope you have a great week. Thanks for visiting.

Paper Salon CHA-W 2008 sneak peeks

Paper Salon has some gorgeous new projects being released at CHA-W very soon. They can be seen over at the PAPER SALON BLOG. Be sure to keep checking back there as new things are being added every couple of days.

I just have to share a couple of my favourites...

Just in time for Easter there's the new KN Sorbet Easter & PS Hoppy Easter Tailored Tin being released. These co-ordinate with the Sorbet collection released at the end of last year. I just have to share two papers which will be so cute for all those Easter projects... Glitter Bunnies and Thermography Chicks (there are six new double-sided papers in this set, as well as die-cut stickers and stamps, so make sure you peek at the Paper Salon blog to see them all)

Kn00130_lrg_2Kn00134_lrg_2

Another new product for Paper Salon ... Lovely Lace 12x12 double-sided die-cut papers. They have die cut holes around the edges perfect for threading some beautiful ribbon and so much more... These will be available in four colour collections. Take a look at the Paper Salon Blog for some Lovely Lace projects by the design team girls.

Maya Road CHA-W 2008 sneak peek {part 2}

Time for another Maya Road project....

This is one of my favourite little mini books from Maya Road, the Vintage Purse Album.

Webpurse1_3

The outside is covered with Luxe Designs paper {Snow Board paper from the Ski Parka collection}.

To cover the 'clasp' part of the purse, I've used a new Maya Road VELVET PLEAT BLOSSOM. These are so divine. These velvet flowers are part of the TRINKETS Collection being released at CHA-W.

Webpurse2

Hanging from the handle {cause all girls need dangle-ey things from their purses} is a MR Chipboard 'e' and a little person from the Maya Road People Chipboard Key Chains. Both have been coloured with ink and heat embossed. The small star on the little person is also from Maya Road part of their MICROCHIP range.

Webpurse3 Webpurse4

Inside the book: The lettering is from the Maya Road Jonathon Rub-on set and the date stamp is from the MR MAKE A DATE Clear Stamp set. Both these products were released at the last CHA and can be seen in the latest catalog. And another Velvet Pleated Blossom to finish.

Webpurse5

The rest of the pages hold photos from Emily's graduation dinner.

Webpurse6

Thanks for visiting and for your comments. I do appreciate hearing from you.

Hope you're having a great day.

Until next sneak peek....

Back from Chicago : part 1 : CHA-S 07

I'm back from Chicago. My trip was a great combination of lots of work and lots of fun.

CHA was big and busy. The Urban Lily booth looked great. And the UL products were well received. Everyone who passed through the booth were so friendly. Despite spending three days with Renata and Phil, we didn't get a photo together. But I did manage to get a few of the booth, below. I'm hoping Kim M and Adrienne, UL DT members will forward some photos, as I know they took some when they visited the booth

Left photo: The Urban Lily Secret Keeper Cards. What a hit they were. We loved the reaction from everyone as we would open them up to reveal the inside. Middle photo: The UL booth. Right photo: A fantastic little display piece for some of the smaller projects.

Fcsecretkeepers Fculstand Fcul

It was great to meet up with the girls from my other design teams, Maya Road and Paper Salon.

Deb, Caroline and Jess from Maya Road were so friendly and welcoming, as were all the DT girls who were working the MR booth. So lovely to meet them.

Fcmayaroad_2 Fcjess_2

Also loved meeting up with the Paper Salon girls and go out with them a couple of times in the evenings, was great to spend time with them. Below is Jen, a fellow Crowded House fan and PS DT'er. Unfortunately I didn't get a photo of everyone at the booth :-(

Fcjen_2

One other lovely lady I was able to meet was Kai-mei from Fontwerks. I have been a fan of Fontwerks for the last few years, and always love seeing the new products they release.

Fcfontwerks

We met lots of other fun people. Will post more later. As well as some sight seeing photos of Chicago. Love, LOVE that city. Loved wandering the streets, catching the 'L' around town, jumping on and off the buses to get around town, going up tall towers with spectacular views, wandering through parks... Anyway, more of that in another post.

Thanks for visiting.

...and another CHA-S sneak peek for Maya Road

Last one, I promise!

This one is very cute. It's being released at CHA-S by Maya Road. It's the Flower Petal Tab album. Each round page has a petal section on it. When assembled, all the petals sit around the album.

There are two other new Maya Road products on this album. The pink gathered rick rack is new, so is the little chipboard arrow shape which is included in a Microchip arrow-shape set.

Again, the full album is over on my website.

Also check the Maya Road blog for lots of sneak peeks in the photo albums.

a few more Maya Road sneaky peeks for CHA

A couple more projects for Maya Road...

The first one uses the Maya Road scalloped accoridan chipboard book, released earlier this year. The new sneaky peek on this project is the little pink chipboard hearts. These are a very cute size, and I received some pink hearts to play with recently from the MR girls. I've covered them with Kindyglitz and then applied a glossy sealer.

Now, next, is one of the NEW sheer books Maya Road is releasing at CHA-S. Lots of fun using this one, being a bit creative with the attachment of photos and embellishments!

I've added both to the galleries over on my website if you'd like to see all the pages of these books. The sheer album can be found here, and the accordian album can be seen here. Thanks for popping by my blog.
